| About the Provider Welcome to Peace in a Pod Daycare! I am a mother of three and had my own children in family daycare for many years before I decided to work at home. Home daycare has been the perfect profession for me and for my family. I am a family daycare provider licensed to care for up to 12 children, including not more than one infant. The State of Minnesota Rules for Family Daycare are available in my home for you to view upon request. I have a degree in elementary education and social work, as well as a minor in human relations. I have gradually developed and customized a curriculum for the children in my care since I opened my business in June of 2001 (visit our Play Room and see our Daily Schedule and Kindergarten Readiness pages for more information on our play-based curriculum). I believe in lifelong learning and continue to seek educational opportunities on issues that affect the children in my care and their families. I try to provide for my families the same quality care that I desired for my own children. This includes opportunity for plenty of fresh air and exercise, play that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and developmental growth, and an atmosphere that encourages children to love to read and learn, to celebrate and respect similarities and differences in themselves and others, and to express themselves creatively. Above all, I want my daycare children to feel at home here. I feel passionately that a home is the ideal place for young children to grow and learn. I am proud to provide a place for little ones to make their first friends! Raquel |
